Sandy Reisky

Sandy’s companies have developed over $4 billion of wind and solar facilities now operating around the country. He was founder and president of Greenlight Energy, a leading independent wind energy company that was acquired by BP in 2006. Sandy was also the founder of Axio Power, a utility-scale solar developer; Columbia Power Technologies, a pioneer in wave energy technology; and Greenlight Biofuels, a waste-to-energy company. In 2014, Sandy was appointed to serve on the newly created Virginia Energy Council by Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. He was also presented with the Leadership in Energy Award at the Keystone Center’s 20th Annual Leadership Awards dinner. He has a BS in commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

James A. Hughes

Chief Executive Officer, First Solar

James A. “Jim” Hughes joined First Solar in March 2012 as Chief Commercial Officer and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in May 2012. Prior to joining First Solar, Mr. Hughes served, from October 2007 until April 2011, as Chief Executive Officer and Director of AEI Services LLC, which owned and operated power distribution, power generation (both thermal and renewable), natural gas transportation and services, and natural gas distribution businesses in emerging markets worldwide. From 2004 to 2007, he engaged in principal investing with a privately held company based in Houston, Texas that focused on micro-cap investments in North American distressed manufacturing assets. Previously, he served, from 2002 until March 2004, as President and Chief Operating Officer of Prisma Energy International, which was formed out of former Enron interests in international electric and natural gas utilities. Prior to that role, Mr. Hughes spent almost a decade with Enron Corporation in positions that included President and Chief Operating Officer of Enron Global Assets, President and Chief Operating Officer of Enron Asia Pacific, Africa and China and as Assistant General Counsel of Enron International. He served as a Non-Executive Director from 2012 to 2016 of APR Energy plc, a London Stock Exchange-listed energy company participating in the global market for gas and diesel fired temporary power plants.

Mr. Hughes is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Gregory Wetstone

President & CEO, ACORE



Gregory Wetstone is President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Council for Renewable Energy (ACORE). ACORE is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing renewable energy through finance, policy, and market development. With member companies from across the spectrum of renewable energy technologies and close ties to the renewable energy finance sector, ACORE is the preeminent voice for the nation’s renewable energy industry.

Prior to joining ACORE Greg oversaw government affairs as Vice President for Terra-Gen Power LLC, a renewable energy company with utility-scale wind, solar and geothermal energy facilities. Prior to his six year term with Terra-Gen, he served as Senior Director for Government and Public Affairs at the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) and Director of Programs at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), where he founded the legislative program. Earlier in his career, Greg was Senior Counsel to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and played an important role in crafting a number of important laws including the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments. Prior to joining the Committee staff, Greg was Director of the Air and Water Pollution Program at the Environmental Law Institute, where he co-authored a desk reference on pollution law (Air and Water Pollution Law 1980, revised ed. 1982) and a groundbreaking book on transboundary air pollution (Acid Rain in Europe and North America, 1983; also published in German by Dreisam Publishing, 1985).

Greg has written and spoken widely on energy and environmental issues. His writings have appeared in the New York Times, The Washington Post, the Atlanta Constitution, the Miami Herald, the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Diego Union Tribune and other newspapers and magazines across the nation. Greg’s has appeared on the ABC Nightly News, the Newshour with Jim Lehrer, NBC World News Tonight, CNN, and National Public Radio. He has a J.D. from the Duke University School of Law and a B.S. in biology from Florida State University.
