In 2015, Andrew dePass was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Conergy. Prior to this position, de Pass led Conergy’s financial turnaround as the Executive Chairman of the Board of Conergy (Kawa Solar Holdings, Ltd.). From his role at Kawa Capital Management, Inc., Andrew led the acquisition of Conergy in 2013 and took a hands-on approach to restructuring and strengthening the Company. De Pass took Conergy from near insolvency to nearly half a billion in revenue in just over a year.

Andrew has over two decades of experience in private equity and renewable energy investing, having managed or invested over $1.3B of capital in infrastructure assets and growth companies in North America, South America and Asia over the course of his career. At Kawa Capital Management, Inc., Andrew dePass was responsible for the origination, execution and management of Kawa’s private (non-real estate) investments, with a focus on renewable energy infrastructure assets.

Between 2009 and early 2012, Andrew dePass held a number of senior positions at Greentech Capital Advisors including Partner, Senior Advisor and Advisory Council Member.

In 1996 Andrew dePass started at Citigroup and was named managing director in 1998 at Citi Venture Capital International. He was the founder and head of Citigroup’s Sustainable Development Investments (SDI) group, a private equity team within Citi Alternative Investments that invested in growth companies in renewable energy, waste and water management, carbon and sustainable products and materials sectors.

Prior to Citi, Andrew dePass worked at Morgan Stanley from 1989 to 1996 where he held positions in the M&A, Restructuring, Equity Capital Markets and Equity Derivatives departments. While at Morgan Stanley, Andrew dePass worked in New York, Hong Kong and Toronto.

Andrew dePass graduated in 1989 from The Richard Ivey School of Business Administration at the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Business Administration, and was awarded the Gold Medal. He received the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst in 1998.


Bud Cherry

During his extensive career as a senior executive in the energy business, Bud Cherry has had the responsibility for developing, designing, financing, constructing, and operating over 3000MW of electric generating capacity.

Bud recently completed his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of wind-turbine manufacturer Northern Power Systems after leading the successful recapitalization of the NPS predecessor parent company, Distributed Energy Systems Inc. (DESC). Bud served as CEO for these companies from late 2007 through 2008.

Bud served as Chief Executive Officer of the Foster Wheeler Global Power Group from 2002 until mid-2006. Bud joined Foster Wheeler as part of the turnaround management team with responsibility for solving a broad range of complex and challenging issues in the Global Power Group. He was successful in resolving these issues and in restructuring the group and restoring it to significant profitability. Bud's creative and tenacious leadership as CEO of GPG was instrumental in the survival of the company and was a critical aspect of the extraordinarily successful turnaround of Foster Wheeler Ltd.

Prior to his tenure at Foster Wheeler, Mr. Cherry was a member of the senior management team of the Oxbow Group for 18 years. Under Bud's management, Oxbow successfully developed, financed, constructed, operated and ultimately, profitably sold 7 power generation facilities located in the US, Asia and Latin America.

Bud holds a BS in Chemistry and and MS in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Illinois.


Daniel Phillip Sinaiko

Daniel P. Sinaiko is a member of the firm’s global project finance group and focuses his practice on project development and finance, with particular emphasis on infrastructure project financings, debt financings, and mergers and acquisitions.

Practice & Background:
Mr. Sinaiko primarily represents developers, sponsors, lenders and investors in development, debt finance, equity finance, and merger and acquisition transactions for capital and infrastructure projects in the renewable energy sector.

Mr. Sinaiko received his B.A. cum laude from the University of Rochester in 1997 and his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 2000.
