Katie McAvoy Gillespie is a corporate partner concentrating her practice in finance transactions, tax credit transactions, and merger and acquisition transactions, in each case, primarily in the renewable energy sector. Ms. Gillespie also has extensive experience in leasing transactions. Ms. Gillespie has represented numerous developers, equity investors, lessors, and lessees in financing, acquisition, and leasing matters involving specialized facilities and equipment. Her tax credit transaction experience includes structuring, acquiring, and divesting interests in tax credit partnerships primarily relating to alternative energy credits. Ms. Gillespie serves as the chair of the Chicago office’s Summer Associate Committee. She also served for three years, until 2008, as the vice president of corporate funding for the Northwestern Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Board. She received a B.A. in Political Science in 1993 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a J.D., magna cum laude, in 1998 from Notre Dame Law School.
