Chief Investment Officer, North America
Daniel Benoit is Chief Investment Officer under Brookfield Renewable’s North American platform. In this role he is tasked with enabling further growth of the North American asset fleet and is responsible for all business development activities including project development, mergers and acquisitions, and market research.
Daniel joined Brookfield Renewable in 2009 as Director for project & corporate financings. In early 2014, he was promoted to Vice President of Corporate and Project Finance, and subsequently to Senior Vice President of Capital Markets. He and his staff managed the financings of all of Brookfield’s global power investments while supporting M&A and Development activities.
Before joining Brookfield Renewable, he held various positions in the financial industry where his responsibilities included participating in the execution of initial and follow-on public equity offerings, providing pricing guidance to investment banking for all equity products and executing corporate financings and mergers & acquisitions.
He has also worked as an independent health information consultant and as a manager for a large Canadian health organization, where he developed and managed hospital funding/benchmarking methodologies and cost profiles for Canadian inpatient and outpatient services.
Daniel obtained a Master’s of Science in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McGill University in 1998, followed by a Master of Business Administration at Richard Ivey School of Business in 2004.
